You see the thing about trust in a relationship

As much as you give (him) a reason not to trust you, a (man) will sometimes push that aside and mark it in (his) head as void. (He) won’t give up, more importantly (he) won’t give up on you. And you know why? it’s probably because (he) see’s so much good and potential in you that you can’t see. (He) probably didn’t listen to the advice that people gave (him)-you know the advice that said “you should drop (her)-(she’s) not good for you” because (he) thought with patience and love, you could probably acknowledge the good person you can be.  So it wasn’t mandatory for (him) to stay- but you see, (he) puts up with the bullshit that is called your life. And that right there is a (man) pushing aside (his) pride for YOU.  And do you ever give (him) appreciation for that? probably not.

Hm it’s because this can be vice-versa. It can be just as similar as a man always putting effort and struggling for her.
